A well-established company based in Maitland is seeking to employ an experienced Orders Processing Clerk to start immediately; the ideal candidate will have a ‘go-getter’ attitude with a high attention to detail;


  • Responsible for outbound and inbound calls and emails alike.
  • Assisting customers face to face (walk in), telephonically and via email.
  • Processing customer orders and back orders daily.
  • Increasing customer spend by: Upselling, cross selling and promoting new product lines.
  • Liaising with internal departments making sure tasks are completed where applicable.
  • Informing customers of no stocks and offering alternatives as well as informing customers of when stock will or has arrived.
  • Lead passing to field sales team.
  • Assisting with client queries, complaints and concerns.
  • Data capturing when needed.
  • Additional projects / tasks to be completed as per the business needs.
  • Meet and exceed daily / weekly / monthly KPI’s set out by management.
  • Build new and maintain existing customer relations.
  • Contributing to improving the business and enhancing the reputation of the company at all times.


  • Matric and other relevant qualifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an orders clerk or similar customer service role.
  • FMCG Industry experience / Knowledge.
  • Experience with order capturing software (QuickBooks / Pastel / Other).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and highly pressurized environment.
  • Ability to work in a metric driven environment.
  • Taking initiative and following through is key in this environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team i.e. team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written skill sets.
  • Telephonic etiquette.
  • Computer literate – need to be able to adapt to new and existing internal CRM tools.
  • Problem solving skill sets needed.
  • Hard working, organized and excellent work ethic.
  • Own transport.
  • Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans.
